No. Not dead.

Just doing the winter thing. We haven't had the awful weather we usually have (duh) and I have to say, I am okay with it. Is it probably due to global warming? Maybe. Should I be outraged? Maybe. But I'm not. I am so happy to not be frozen to the bone everyday. I am happy to not be trudging through three or four feet of snow. Or wondering how I'll get out of the house at 6AM if no one shovels. So yes, I am okay with this.
Still. Old habits. That means hiding inside, watching TV, reading, zoning on FB.  A little drinking.

Yesterday was almost 50 degrees. I kept running out to the porch and just relished the Springness of the day. We even opened the window for an hour to bring in some of the warm.
I can't wait to sit outside again.

A tomorrow is the day.

The day.

The day we find out what is in store for us.

Groundhog Day.

No. Not Bill Murray groundhog day.

The real Groundhog Day.

Will he? Won't he? Day.

If he sees his shadow, six more weeks of winter. If not, early Spring.  You'd think it would be the other way around. He sees his shadow, that means it's sunny. That should mean warm. An early Spring. But no.
We need him to not see it. That means that we need rain, clouds, a solar eclipse.

I'm rooting for the eclipse.

But whatever the little critter sees (or doesn't see) I know I'll be ready.  Ready to sit on the porch and drink in the sunshine (or vodka :) .

So I guess what I want to say is...

Happy Groundhog Day everyone!

...from a waiting till Spring to be warm again barrel .
